The University of Missouri System Board of Curators stated on Thursday that they would recommend student leaders from the University of Missouri-St. Louis to Governor Mike Kehoe’s office to fill the four-year vacant student curator position. Remington Williams was the last student representative on the curators, and died in a car crash in June of 2022, just one month from the end of his tenure. Student representatives are selected by the Missouri governor to serve for a term of two years and rotate through all four UM System universities. “We'll be working with [UMSL] Interim Chancellor Spilling to identify student leaders that will be nominated to the governor's office, and we'll make the case that we would like to see a student member be appointed to the board of curators,” UM System President Mun Choi said.
