Early on, I had to confront some major weaknesses. I have a terrible rote memory—I can’t remember anything that doesn’t have a clear reason for being what it is. Because of that, I was a bad student and I hated school. Details have always been a mess for me. To supplement my own shortcomings, I learned that I need to surround myself and work with people who are meticulous and detail-oriented. Beyond that, my early audaciousness came with a lot of arrogance—until I got the shit kicked out of me enough times to learn fear. But what I ultimately realized through that process is that your weaknesses don’t really matter.
