8th-ranked Texas A&M closed out the Texas A&M Invitational with a 3-0 sweep of Cal Poly, winning 26-24, 25-15, 25-23 to complete back-to-back sweeps after also downing Grand Canyon and Arkansas State the day before.
The opening set was a tight, back-and-forth battle, with the two teams tying six times before Cal Poly grabbed a 15-12 edge at the first media break. Outside hitter Natalie Ring turned the tide from there, piling up eight kills in the frame, with her final one giving Texas A&M set point at 24-22. Cal Poly tied it back up at 24-24, but a kill from Eliza Sharp combined with a Mustangs error sealed the set for the Aggies, 26-24.
Texas A&M carried that momentum into a dominant second set, using its blockers to hold Cal Poly to just eight kills and cruising to a 25-15 win. Cal Poly regrouped for the third, pushing the Aggies to the limit and even building a late lead before Texas A&M closed it out 25-23 ...
