August 28, 2026 Georgia opened the 2026 season with a perfect day at its own Classic City Clash, sweeping North Florida 3-0 in the tournament opener before also sweeping George Washington later that same day at Stegeman Coliseum. The win kicked off the 10th season under head coach Tom Black and the 48th season of volleyball in Athens, part of a six-match round-robin tournament also featuring George Washington and Furman. Georgia's sweep of North Florida set the tone for a dominant opening day that saw the Bulldogs run their record to 2-0 before day one had even concluded. North Florida, appearing in its first-ever meeting with Georgia, fell to 0-1 on the season, while Georgia moved to 1-0.
