When art advisor Bona Yoo (bonayoo) and SangWook Lee moved their young family from Manhattan to Singapore, they brought their Big Apple style with them. Working with Giancarlo Valle and Jane Keltner de Valle of #AD100 firm Studio Valle de Valle (valledevalle), the couple transformed a duplex apartment in a centrally located building into a home that reflects both their new locale and their old. Vintage furnishings by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Jean Prouvé, and Oscar Niemeyer sit alongside contemporary art and Giancarlo’s own designs. Curving forms and playful details, from swooping bunk beds to a carpet woven with the family members’ names, keep it all grounded in family life. “We wanted to embrace living with art and design and expose the kids to it,” says Yoo.
