THEY MADE IT. 🎓🇳🇬 Today, my students became graduates. My NegVites. When I accepted the invitation to teach Acting & Theatre at the NEGV Institute of Arts and Communications in Nigeria, I thought I was arriving to pour into a classroom of emerging artists. What I could not have known was how deeply they would pour into me. Across an ocean, week after week, we studied craft—but we also talked about discipline, courage, character, storytelling, purpose and what it means to remain in alignment with your assignment. And today, as they crossed their threshold, NEGV surprised me with the 2026 Lecturer Excellence & Outstanding Service Award. To be honored for teaching on the very day my students graduate feels especially sacred because, quite simply: They are the citation. Their growth is the award. Their courage is the evidence.
