Two instruments. Two questions: which way, and how long? There’s something deeply satisfying about pairing a mechanical watch with a compass. Both take something abstract — time and direction — and turn it into information you can read at a glance, without a screen, signal, or menu. The compass establishes the bearing. The GSAR keeps track of the passage of time, with its rotating bezel ready to mark an interval along the way. It’s an old-school combination because it works. Simple instruments, each doing one job exceptionally well. The GSAR and wrist compass. A pairing that’s pretty hard to improve on. #bestinthelongrun
