A Maricopa County grand jury has indicted a 20-year-old man on felony charges including murder for his alleged role in a March pursuit and two crashes that left one woman deceased and two others injured.
According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, Ali Alebadi was indicted on August 12 on charges including homicide, aggravated assault and unlawful flight from a law enforcement vehicle. All charges are felonies.
Investigators allege that on March 22, Alebadi was driving on a suspended license with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.141 when he repeatedly ran red lights and veered into oncoming traffic at speeds above 90 miles per hour while actively evading police.
According to the Glendale Police Department, a patrol car pursuing Alebadi collided with a pickup truck at 56th and Glendale avenues. A police officer and the pickup truck’s driver were hospitalized.
