Phoenix has released more than 50 personnel and disciplinary documents involving the two former police officers charged after an unreported traffic stop allegedly turned violent.
Antonio Felix and Luis Vasquez Jr. were arrested and fired on August 22 in connection with the August 5 stop near 19th Avenue and Broadway Road. Both now face multiple felony charges, including kidnapping, aggravated assault and tampering with evidence.
The newly released records show both officers had previous disciplinary issues.
Felix was coached after failing to promptly report a use of force while he was an officer in training in 2018 and later had issues involving incomplete reports. Vasquez’s record includes missed court appearances and a 2025 written reprimand for failing to thoroughly investigate a collision and properly activate his body camera.
The records also show both received multiple commendations during their careers.
