Mary Elenz was 84 when she passed away last September. Court records show Adult Protective Services had received reports alleging her son, Allen Page, was abusing her as far back as 2019, but the allegations could not be substantiated at the time. Chandler police arrested Page, 64, last week following an 11-month investigation. Hospice staff found Elenz unresponsive at her home near Warner and Dobson roads and living in what authorities described as extremely poor conditions. She was taken to a Hospice of the Valley facility, diagnosed with protein-calorie malnutrition and passed away the following day. The medical examiner listed her cause of death as pneumonia complicated by skin wounds, with neglect playing a significant role. Court records say Page became his mother’s medical power of attorney in 2023.
