Last month was probably one of the worst months I’ve had with my PMDD for a long time. And if you followed me through it, you’ll know I wasn’t myself. My motivation disappeared. My mood changed completely. Everything felt overwhelming and when I was in it, I genuinely couldn’t imagine feeling like “me” again. Then my hormones shifted…and there I was. Happy. Motivated. Positive. Full of energy again. And THAT is the part I find so difficult about PMDD. So this month I’ve decided I don’t just want to wait for it to hit me again. I’ve got roughly two weeks before I would normally expect things to start changing, and I’m going to use those two weeks to really focus on the things I CAN control. Not because I think I can magically cure PMDD with a salad and a dumbbell 😂 But because I want to know whether being more consistent with my nutrition, strength training, sleep, recovery and stress management can make any difference at all to how I cope when that phase arrives.
