2026 ATHLETE OF THE YEAR OPPORTUNITY JUST GOT BIGGER. Our Athlete of the Year Award Opportunity has expanded beyond the Cornhusker State Games! Athletes competing across all Nebraska Sports Council events will now have the opportunity to be recognized. We’re looking for athletes who show participation, sportsmanship, effort and a positive attitude, both in competition and as part of the Nebraska Sports Council community. With six divisions, we’ll recognize six Athlete of the Year winners who represent what it means to be a great athlete and competitor.
