After 18 months of major renovations, Chattanooga's iconic Walnut Street Bridge is set to reopen in a month. A celebratory walk to reopen the pedestrian bridge is set for noon-3 p.m. Oct. 3, according to a city press release. The celebration will include live entertainment and family fun, the release said. The Walnut Street Bridge closed in March 2025 so crews with Florida-based Southern Road and Bridge could address its deterioration.
