The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday the department will temporarily suspend its use of Flock cameras.
"As of today, the Hamilton county sheriff's office will pause our use of this technology," said Hamilton County Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey. "I am not canceling the contract, I am pausing."
Deputies' access to cameras and their data will be suspended, she said. The program will be unpaused when the county has better answers to questions about how Flock shares the data. McGuffey said she was unable to put a timeline on when that might be.
McGuffey said the sheriff's office would pause payments to Flock Safety as it waited on answers from the company.
