A Springfield, Ohio, man is suing seven federal immigration officers, alleging a "terrifying campaign of retaliatory harassment" against him for recording their activities in his hometown.
Sean Moorman's federal lawsuit, filed by the ACLU of Ohio, says officers of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement violated his First Amendment right to act as an ICE observer.
Moorman, a 41-year-old electrical engineer, has been the target of "flagrant and escalating" ICE harassment since he began volunteering as an ICE observer on Aug. 19, the suit says.
"Sean's case is a particularly egregious example of a group of ICE agents, acting individually and in concert with each other .. to torment him, to terrify him," American Civil Liberties Union attorney David J. Carey said.
