I don’t think I’ve ever used a microphone that felt this ready to go. I used the jzmics Vintage 47 to record the acoustic guitars for this song, and I absolutely loved how they came out. During production and mixing, I only needed a couple of very minor EQ adjustments — and those were more about my room than the microphone itself. It just captured the sound I was looking for right from the start: warm, detailed, present, and with just the right amount of character. With a 20 Hz–20 kHz frequency response and a cardioid polar pattern, it’s incredibly easy to get a focused, natural recording straight from the source.
