In 2017, Porsche set a Guinness World Records title by using a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S to tow an Air France Airbus A380 weighing around 285 tonnes. Yes — an SUV pulled a massive four-engine superjumbo jet. The Cayenne was equipped with a 4.8-liter twin-turbo V8, producing roughly 570 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. But horsepower alone doesn’t explain how this was possible. The real challenge was generating enough torque at low speeds, maintaining traction, and transferring that force through the drivetrain without damaging the vehicle. The aircraft was attached to the Cayenne using a specially prepared towing connection, while the jet itself remained on its landing gear.
