As a parent, I ask myself if chasing my own pursuits is selfish. I struggle with leaving them while I go race. But I need to feed my soul in order to nurture my kids’ souls. So I bring them along when I can and try to make them an integral piece of the puzzle as I prepare, learn, map, juggle, and recover. They can’t go on my adventures (yet) but they can see the work and the stories that come from them. My prayer is this helps them understand at an earlier age what I’m learning in my 30’s.
