I didn’t think this one would still have a charge to it after all this time. She’s at uni now, everything is fine, and some mornings I still catch myself waiting for a stress that isn’t coming. Nobody really tells you that part. Getting through something that hard doesn’t erase what it asked of you, it just changes what it asks of you now. If you’re in the thick of it, this isn’t a sign you’re doing it wrong. And if you’re years past it and still feel a flicker of this sometimes, you’re not the only one.
