Experts say the disaster was triggered by a collapsed glacier, unleashing a torrent of ice, rock and mud through mountain valleys. More than 1,300 people were killed and over 5,600 remain missing. Officials and rescue workers say they believe at least 900 people were trapped in tunnels linked to six hydropower projects when the disaster struck on August 26.
