DEVELOPING: Michigan HC Kyle Whittingham indicated that QB Bryce Underwood could be benched soon if he doesn't show drastic improvement in the coming weeks.
“He's our QB right now. It's not something that's infinite. At some point, we've got to turn a corner and we've got to see improvement," Whittingham said today.
Underwood, 19, went 12/22 for 170 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT in Saturday's season opener vs. Western Michigan. He also rushed for 47 yards on nine carries (5.2 YPC) and 1 TD, while losing 1 fumble.
#16 Michigan hosts
#10 Oklahoma this Saturday.
Freshman QB Tommy Carr is currently Underwood's backup.
