It’s been more than a week since Typhoon Mawar hit Guam & the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and many residents still don’t have the ability to shower, wash clothes or refrigerate food. More than 180 Red Cross disaster workers are on the ground working nonstop with local partners and agencies to ensure people receive life-sustaining help and resources, by: 🔦 Distributing relief supplies like clean-up kits, coolers, flashlights and hygiene supplies. 📍 Hosting community distribution sites for people to retrieve supplies and recovery assistance. 🥘 Supporting feeding efforts in community-run shelters. 🪖 Assisting military families at the Emergency Family Assistance Center. While many areas were spared a direct hit from Mawar, the community still needs our help after experiencing widespread damage.
