What is going on with Highway 417 lately⁉️😨 A cyclist has now been caught riding a bicycle directly on the highway, despite two serious pedestrian collisions happening on the 417 in just over one month. On July 30, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near Vanier Parkway and taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Then on Wednesday night, another pedestrian was struck by an out-of-service OC Transpo bus near Parkdale Avenue during heavy rain and later died from their injuries. After two people were already struck, including one person losing their life, someone was still spotted riding a bicycle on the highway. The 417 is not designed for pedestrians or cyclists, and one unexpected person on the road can put their own life and multiple drivers at serious risk.
