Two pedestrians struck on Highway 417 in just over one month…this time, a life was lost 😞🕊️💔 A pedestrian has died after being struck by an out-of-service OC Transpo bus on Highway 417 near Parkdale Avenue Wednesday night. The victim was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries but later died. This marks the second time in just over a month that a pedestrian has been struck on Highway 417 in Ottawa. On July 30, another pedestrian was struck near Vanier Parkway and hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Wednesday’s fatal collision happened as a powerful storm brought heavy rain, slick roads and reduced visibility across Ottawa. Police have not said whether the weather contributed to the incident and are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
