Another legend in our sport gone too soon!!
"Besides being a gifted lifter, multi-time world champion, and world record holder, Ray was a true ambassador for the sport of drug-free powerlifting. His love of the sport was evident in the way he was involved with the ADFPA/USA Powerlifting. He gave back to the sport in so many ways. He served as an EC member, national referee, and most importantly, he was a mentor for so many new lifters. He treated every lifter with respect and compassion, whether they were a national champion or a new lifter. He treated everyone the same. His legacy will never be forgotten. We need more people like Ray Benemerito in the sport of powerlifting. Ray will truly be missed."
