😳 Lance Stroll has made Formula 1 history for all the wrong reasons, becoming the first driver to reach 100 career Q1 eliminations. The milestone came at Monza, where the Aston Martin driver qualified 22nd and last, finishing just under a tenth behind teammate Fernando Alonso. Since F1 introduced the three-stage knockout qualifying format in 2006, no other driver has reached triple digits in Q1 exits. Stroll already owned the record after surpassing Kevin Magnussen’s previous mark of 74 at the 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The 2026 season has accelerated the tally dramatically, with Stroll now eliminated in Q1 at all 13 Grand Prix qualifying sessions so far this year. Aston Martin’s AMR26 was also seriously exposed at Monza, reportedly running around 20 km/h slower than the Mercedes cars and leaving Stroll roughly 2.6 seconds off Pierre Gasly’s Q1 pace.
