The Mitsubishi Pajero is officially back after five years, reviving the legendary SUV known as the Montero in some markets. Rather than turning it into another crossover, Mitsubishi gave the new flagship a proper ladder frame, 230 mm of ground clearance and serious off-road hardware. Power comes from a 2.4-liter turbo-diesel producing up to 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque through a new 8-speed automatic. Super Select 4WD-II brings selectable 2WD, full-time 4WD and low-range capability, while Mitsubishi’s S-AWC helps manage traction and vehicle behavior across different surfaces. It even gets dedicated Gravel, Snow, Mud, Sand and Rock modes for drivers who actually intend to take it off pavement.
