Five months in. Here’s what I know and won’t be moved on. Scheduling twins is a beautiful idea that doesn’t survive contact with real life. Not when you have three other kids with school pickups and soccer and religious school and playdates. Not when your identical babies are, in fact, two separate people with two completely different hunger cues, wake windows, and opinions about everything. You cannot schedule two humans into being the same person. I never even bothered to try. Identical does not mean interchangeable. Same DNA. Completely different nervous systems, rhythms, and ways they want to be held. Benny is not Dash. Dash is not Benny. The moment I started treating them as individuals instead of a unit to manage, everything got easier. Co-sleeping done safely is nothing to apologize for.
