One of the most unforgettable images from the 2022 protests surrounding the APEC summit in Bangkok showed a Buddhist monk launching himself into a flying kick toward a line of riot police shields. The monk, identified as Phra Prapasiri, was photographed completely airborne as tensions between protesters and authorities intensified. The moment quickly stood out because Buddhist monks are traditionally associated with restraint and nonviolence, making the image even more shocking to people seeing it for the first time. The photo went on to become one of the defining images associated with the unrest, capturing just how chaotic and heated the demonstrations had become. - mindblowin.g #Thailand #Bangkok #Buddhist #Monk #PoliceBrutality
