The Spurs Under-21s take their first steps in this season’s EFL Trophy on Tuesday night with a trip to League Two outfit Exeter City. Wayne Burnett’s side have been regular participants in the competition in recent years, with a select number of Under-21 sides from around the country invited to face first teams from League One and League Two in competitive action, in what is always a great test for our young professionals. In the first of our three games in Southern Group A this term, we make the long trip to Devon for a rematch with the Grecians, having played them in the same competition two years ago. We went down to a 2-0 defeat at St James Park on that occasion, but will be aiming for a more positive result this time as we look to build on our unbeaten start to the Premier League 2 campaign. The hosts have won one, drawn two and lost two of their five League Two matches in 2026/27 to date, having battled out a goalless draw at home to Walsall on Saturday. Kick-off on Tuesday ...
