Here, you can see that the supposedly “more open” 100 actually keeps the strings closer together—especially through the sweet spot. That becomes visually obvious when you line up the grommets and compare the two racquets side by side. The main-spacing is more similar between the two but a subtle difference is still there. Can you see it? Once strung, the Pro shows a more open, square-shaped pattern despite having a smaller head and an additional cross. The Pro’s more open spacing around the sweet spot can help with spin production, while the extra cross and smaller head reduce the overall trampoline effect of the stringbed. Ironically, or counterintuitively, I believe the Defyer Pro is actually a bit more spin friendly. Especially relative to the power it produces.
