Footage filmed from a Nepali Army Mi-17 helicopter on September 4 showed the extent of devastation along the path of the deadly mudslide in Rasuwa district.⁣ ⁣ Experts say the disaster was triggered by a collapsed glacier, unleashing a torrent of ice, rock and mud through mountain valleys. More than 1,300 people were killed and over 5,600 remain missing.⁣ ⁣ Officials and rescue workers say they believe at least 900 people were trapped in tunnels linked to six hydropower projects when the disaster struck on August 26.⁣ ⁣ The disaster left an estimated 2.2 million tonnes of debris, according to a preliminary assessment by the UN, including building rubble, rocks and sediment.⁣ ⁣ #landslide #nepal #floods
