Auburn's season-opening win over Baylor showcased a few new uniform details that you may have missed. 1) The SEC jersey patch has been shrunk and moved to the collar. The move comes as teams across the conference either introduce new ad patches or prepare to do so. While Auburn (and some other SEC teams) didn't have ad patches, the possibility of adding one remains. Auburn may go the entire season without an advertising patch. Or they could add one mid-season. So enjoy the new look while you can. The smaller SEC patch isn't the ideal option, but it looked better than I was expecting. 2) Auburn forgoes captaincy patches for the first time since 2021. Auburn is announcing captains on a game-by-game basis this season. With the change in mentality comes a change in uniform identification.
