I always love coming back to Rome, and this was only a quick stop but Casa Monti made it such a lovely one. The hotel has so much personality. It’s colourful, maximalist, a little playful, and full of thoughtful design details that still feel very rooted in Rome rather than like they could belong anywhere. I also loved the location in Monti. It’s buzzy and full of little restaurants, bars, vintage shops and independent boutiques, but feels noticeably less touristic than some of the more obvious areas. You’re still less than a 15-minute walk from the Colosseum, so it’s a really nice balance. And for a five-star boutique hotel in Rome, there’s also a little more value here than you often find at some of the larger, big-name luxury hotels, without sacrificing the design, service or experience.
