Not my typical airport departure, but I’m on my way to Marrakech for one of the biggest weeks in the luxury travel calendar. PURE is the world’s leading trade show for experiential luxury travel, bringing together incredible independent and family-run hotels, lodges, travel companies and experts from around the world. The focus is not simply on five-star luxury, but on travel that feels immersive, conscious and connected to the places we visit. These trade shows are such an important part of my job. They are how I keep my finger on the pulse of what’s happening in luxury travel, discover places before they become obvious and decide where I want to scout next. So many of the hotels and experiences I eventually share here begin with a meeting just like one of these. Not to mention lots of networking and catchups with so many wonderful industry friends!
