From a swampy mud pit to a fully excavated bass pond in just days! After burying the John Deere 1025R and sinking the skid steer in the sludge, we finally found the bottom, carved out our target depth, and turned this basin into an engineered fish habitat.
In this video, we reveal the complete transformation. We didn't just dig a big hole—we made it significantly better by shaping multi-level shelves, carving deep pocket structure, restoring the bottom composition, and introducing nutrient-rich organic matter back into the surrounding forest floor. Plus, we start laying out the next phase: adding tactical fish cover and dumping gravel spawning beds to promote natural reproduction for our bass and sunfish.
Drop a comment below: What kind of cover should we add next—brush piles, standing timber, or rock cribs?
