Today started with one very specific question: could I finally pull 500 pounds from the floor?
The answer was 228 kilograms—502.65 pounds.
I worked through 135 × 5, 225 × 3, 315 × 2, and 405 × 1 before taking the shot at 502. Everything locked into place at the top, and after nearly a year of consistently building my strength, I finally had a 500-plus-pound deadlift on the board.
Then I kept training.
Single Dumbbell to Shoulder:
70 LB × 2
85 LB × 1
100 LB × 1
100 LB × 10 in 60 seconds
During that final set, my recently acquired mouthguard launched itself out of my mouth around the 45-second mark. I caught it out of the air, put it back in, and continued while the clock kept running.
Zercher Carry:
215 LB × 50 FT in 15.54 seconds, including a controlled turn at 25 feet
Cable Backward Walk:
70 LB × 90 seconds
Reverse Back Extension:
BW × 15
