🇬🇧🎾 YOU LOST A MATCH. NOT YOURSELF. One of the most important things I teach athletes is to separate the result from their identity. A loss does not define who you are. It only tells you what happened in one specific performance, at one specific moment. That’s why it’s important to see a loss as DATA, not a VERDICT. After the match, ask yourself: 👉 What did I do well? 👉 Where was the match decided? 👉 How did I respond under pressure? 👉 What can I learn from this? 👉 What can I do 1% better next time? Emotions after a loss are natural. Disappointment means that the result mattered to us. But once the emotions settle, it’s time to learn. The best athletes lose too. The difference is what they do with the loss. They don’t take it as proof that they’re not good enough. They take the information, adjust their training, learn from it and move forward.
