We wanted to take a minute to give a shoutout to our MLS Next Academy Director, Fernando Gonzalez, on his recent accomplishments as the Head Coach of the Puerto Rico U14 National Team. A beloved member of our family here, Fernando guided the U14’s to the 2026 CFU U14 Challenge Cup Series, and competed against Trinidad & Tobago, French Guiana, and Haiti. Puerto Rico finished the group stage 1 win, 1 draw, and 1 loss and although they did not advance, what they did was still of historic proportions. With Fernando in the driver’s seat, Puerto Rico secured a historic 1-0 victory over Haiti, the eventual Challenge Cup Champions. This marked Puerto Rico’s first-ever win against Haiti! We’re so lucky to have you as part of the TBU family, Fernando. We’re looking forward to the season! #tampamade
