Uchi is one of the most hyped restaurant openings Charlotte has seen in a while and it did not disappoint 🔥 We pulled up for the soft opening and went with the somakase, where the chef curates an entire tasting menu based on what you like. The sushi and nigiri was super fresh, the hot rock wagyu was a dope experience cooking it yourself at the table, and the karaage chicken with sweet chili was perfection. We also had the Uchi salad, shishito peppers, kinoko nabe, short rib, and this trumpet mushroom dish that caught us off guard. We tried a few mocktails too and they were all super refreshing. But whatever you do... do NOT skip dessert. The fried milk is one of the most unique desserts in Charlotte right now. If you love sushi and Japanese cuisine, this is a must visit.
