Colorado opened the 2026 season with a 14-13 comeback win over Georgia Tech Thursday night at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta. A crowd of 52,113 packed the stadium for its first sellout in a season opener since 2006, and watched the Buffaloes trail 13-7 with under two minutes to play before quarterback Julian Lewis engineered a 75-yard drive in just eight plays, capping it with a 20-yard touchdown throw to tight end Charlie Williams to take the lead in the final minute. Georgia Tech had one last chance, moving into range for a 45-yard field goal to win it, but Boo Carter came flying off the edge to block the kick with three seconds left and seal Colorado's first win of the year. The Tennessee transfer also recovered a Yellow Jacket fumble in the first quarter, capping a debut that helped anchor a dominant night on defense.
