This building didn't always look like this. Before O Atrium was filled with the smell of tacos and fresh coffee, it was part of a working USPS post office. Architect Jason Long of OMA saw something else in it: a chance to slice the old structure open and let the city pour in. O Atrium is one of three resulting cuts, built around a striking double-helix staircase that spirals people up from the ground floor straight into Skylawn above. Today that same atrium is home to POST Market (postmarkethtx), a food hall bringing together over 25 restaurants, bars, and culinary concepts under one roof. Whatever you're craving, there's a good chance it's here. Same historic bones, endless food options. πŸ—οΈπŸœ #POSTHouston #OAtrium #POSTMarket #AdaptiveReuse #HoustonArchitecture #OMA
