I’d like to think my daughter would come find me — or a teacher, or ANYONE — if something happened at school. But I recently found out through talking to my teacher friends, that’s this is many times, not case. Many girls quietly suffer through something than raise their hand and ask for help in front of people. It’s not about them not trusting, it’s about their age. So instead of waiting for her to ask, we’re making sure she’ll never have to. I’ve packed this before the school year even really got going. It’s for her (and for me—my nerves).
