Nobody warned us that after 40, the workout isn’t always the hard part... it’s learning how to work with your body instead of against it.
I can’t lie and say I came to this conclusion willingly, because I’ll admit, it’s been diffucult realizing I’m no longer 20. Whereas I used to walk into the gym, immediately jump into a workout, skip warmups, and move in every which way I so choose — honey, that old way is a no for me dawg! 🤭
Slowly but surely I’ve let go of the mindset that I can train the same way I did in my 20s.
Also me: the days of cardio only are long gone, but that’s a different lost for a different day.
These workouts are about longevity, protecting my joints, building strength, and making sure I can keep showing up for myself for years to come.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that modifying an exercise doesn’t mean you’re doing less... it means you’re training smarter. And that’s exactly what I’m learning from my chiropractor
