“My friends are with me and I am not afraid.” I have a bad habit of not reading extremely popular books in a timely fashion because I don’t like feeling the pressure to love them the same way others do. For over a year Crescent City 1 sat on my shelf unread, but with the sequel coming out I decided to give it a shot. I am an idiot for not reading it sooner. Truly I can’t remember the last time I had this much fun reading a book. I know a lot of people have complaints about the pacing and world building in the first few hundred pages, but I actually found it enjoyable as SJM weaved this mystery and relationships. I actually SOBBED reading the last 200 pages, and I sobbed again this morning while just skimming them. This book will stick with me for awhile, and will definitely be one I re-read one day.
