“Find Yourself.” That was my mantra for this epic challenge. Every inch of me is a competitor, but this time the strategy had less to do a plan and more to do with how I would react to the unplanned. It had to do with attitude and mentality, and staying patient while dealing with fatigue, ever-changing weather, and unpredictable stressors. When I lined up to the start, I was ready to be alone. I was ready to venture out on this solo trek across the forests of Arkansas. Not to set records. Not to win. All I heard inside my head was, “Find Yourself” — the heartbeat mission that helped me through the long game. Ready to start sharing some of my crazy stories soon! They involve all the fears I expressed before the race of mechanicals, nighttimes alone, dogs, and strange men. Stay tuned! . @arhighcountryrace photo by @kaicaddy
