We recently spent a slow afternoon at the new Grand Rapids African American Museum and Archives, and it’s a place that invites you to do just that: slow down, look closely, and reflect.
Walking through the gallery, we took in powerful works of art, moments of local and national history, and stories that too often go untold. The museum’s inaugural exhibition, Nobody Knows: Hidden History from the GRAAMA Collection, marks the completion of the first phase of renovations at their new home on Sheldon and opens an important new chapter for GRAAMA.
If you’re looking for a meaningful way to spend an afternoon or something thoughtful to add to your Grand Rapids museum experience, we highly recommend a visit. 🤍
