Alexandra Adams was told she would never become a doctor because she was deaf and registered blind. Today, she has proved every doubter wrong by becoming the UK’s first blind and deaf doctor. 🩺💙
After spending 17 months in hospital and undergoing more than 20 operations as a teenager, her own experience of feeling ignored as a patient became the motivation to enter medicine. At Cardiff University Medical School, she developed innovative solutions to overcome barriers — including a Bluetooth stethoscope that streams a patient’s heartbeat directly into her hearing aids.
Her journey is a powerful reminder that limitations don’t define what you can achieve. Sometimes, the biggest barriers are simply challenges waiting to be overcome. ❤️🔥
