History lives in unexpected places. ✨ Created by Black Detroiters and U.S. veterans, the Buffalo Soldiers Heritage Association honors the legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers while connecting people with horses, community, and the stories that shaped our nation. Tucked along the edge of Rouge Park, BSHA calls a 150-year-old barn, once used by the Detroit Police Department’s Mounted Unit, home.
