For some, whitewater rafting is an adventure — for the Fort Hood Fire Department Special Operations team members, it carries a very different purpose. Recently, the Spec. Ops team put their lifesaving skills to the test at the 2026 Oklahoma Swiftwater Conference and Competition at Riversport Whitewater Center in Oklahoma City, earning multiple awards for their teamwork and lifesaving skills in torrid water conditions.
